What We Like About The DEWALT Bluetooth Speaker DCR028B

There’s a ton to fall in love with, when it comes to the DEWALT DCR028B, if it’s up your alley, though.
For starters, the sound quality of this Bluetooth Jobsite Radio is absolutely phenomenal.
Leading the charge are dual 3.5-inch woofers as well as two 1-inch tweeters, providing legitimate stereo sound quality that you’re not going to find in your standard ‘all-in-one’ audio setups.
Those 3.5-inch woofers might not be the biggest thing on the block, but they are going to beef up the bass that this thing puts out. The 1-inch tweeters handle everything else for you, delivering crystal clear audio that is rich, authentic and free of distortion even at max volume.
Of course, the audio signal that you’re sending to the DEWALT DCR028B from your streaming device needs to be rock solid as well for you to unlock all the potential this compact Bluetooth radio has.
The latest version of Bluetooth guarantees that connecting your mobile phone, media player or tablet (and any other Bluetooth enabled audio device) is about as simple and straightforward as a process can be.
All you have to do is press and hold the Bluetooth connection button (a physical button on the radio itself), wait for the Bluetooth indicator light to start to blink, and then begin the pairing process on your source device.
Autopilot takes over from there, connecting these two devices securely and 100% wirelessly (within a range of up to 100 feet).
You’ll know that you are good to go when the Bluetooth indicator light goes solid blue.
Of course, you don’t have to use this Bluetooth cordless jobsite product for only streaming wireless audio. If you want to hook up an analog source to the DEWALT DCR028B, you can go down that route as well.
It has a built-in 3.5-mm auxiliary port that you can utilize with no headache or hassle (so long as you’re cool with going corded).
An AM/FM radio is built-in, too. In case you’ve had enough of your prerecorded audio, you can listen to the latest hits as well as news, weather and traffic updates.
On top of all of that, you can power this cordless jobsite radio with the included AC adapter or the DEWALT 12V MAX, 20V MAX or FLEXVOLT lithium-ion batteries. These are the same batteries that you are probably already using to power your DEWALT cordless tools.
And these batteries will need to be charged with their supplied charger. Not bad, right?
Rounding things out our end, the integrated USB charging port, a 3-year warranty as well as the legendary DEWALT reputation for indestructibility and heavy duty ‘roll cages’ that double as radio antennas to boost your terrestrial radio signals.
This thing has a lot going on!
What We Don’t Like About The DEWALT Bluetooth Speaker DCR028B
Of course, not everything is picture-perfect with the DEWALT DCR028B.
For one thing, this jobsite radio is going to set you back a decent chunk of change.
Yes, there are a ton of features this radio has that you’re not going to find on a lot of other budget-focused audio product options. But, some of these features won’t be useful for everyone – especially, if you don’t bang a hammer or practice a trade all day long.
This is very much a professional grade radio specifically designed for professional applications on job sites where conditions are less than ideal.
Moreover, this jobsite radio might draw power from DEWALT cordless batteries, but doesn’t have the ability to recharge those batteries back up, when it is plugged into itself.
That really would have put this thing over the top in our opinion and added a whole extra level of utility.
It’s hopefully something the folks at DEWALT are thinking about adding later down the line with a new model upgrade.

All things considered, there are a ton of different jobsite radio products to pick and choose from these days – including a few other options from DEWALT.
Most of those other options come in with lower price tags, but have fewer features. And only a handful of them (the ones from DEWALT) have anywhere close to the same kind of build quality.
You really need to think about what you’re hoping to do with your new jobsite radio and the kinds of conditions your radio will be subjected to.
If you want premium sound quality, incredible battery life, the ability to charge your phone, AM/FM radio and other ‘creature features’ you won’t find in other jobsite radios – the DEWALT DCR028B is probably right up your alley.
Have you already been ripping and tearing through lower quality jobsite radios at a breakneck pace? Or you need something that’s going to last and can really take a beating without any signs of wear and tear – the DEWALT DCR028B is right up your alley, too.
If your jobsite radio will be dropped, kicked around and abused pretty regularly (even if accidentally), then this product is definitely the way to go.
This is very much a professional grade piece of equipment, specifically intended for professionals that need something they can rely on. It’ll fit those folks perfectly!
